Drain Old Oil

Clean the drain plug and gasket if necessary

Replace Oil Filter

Locate the oil filter (usually near the engine)

Position the oil drain pan beneath the oil filter

Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter

Check the old filter for any signs of damage or clogging

Apply a thin layer of new oil onto the rubber gasket of the new oil filter

Install the new oil filter by hand, ensuring it is tightened securely

Refill with New Oil

Locate the oil filler cap on top of the engine

Remove the oil filler cap

Insert a funnel into the oil filler hole

Pour the appropriate amount and type of new oil into the engine

Refer to the vehicle's manual for the correct oil capacity and viscosity

Slowly pour the oil to avoid spills or overfilling

Monitor the oil level using the dipstick and add more if necessary

Recap the oil filler cap tightly

Check for Leaks and Clean Up

Inspect the drain plug, oil filter, and oil filler cap for any signs of oil leakage

Tighten or replace any parts if leaks are detected

Wipe off any spilled oil or residue using a clean cloth

Dispose of the used oil and oil filter properly (in accordance with local regulations)

Double-check that all tools and equipment are properly stored

Record-Keeping

Document the date, vehicle mileage, and type/viscosity of the new oil used

Log the oil change in the vehicle's maintenance records or service log

Keep a copy of the oil change receipt or invoice for future reference
