Fruiting

Once the mycelium has fully colonized the growing medium (typically in 2-3 weeks), initiate fruiting conditions.

Increase fresh air exchange by puncturing small holes in the bags or opening the container lids partially.

Adjust the temperature to around 60-65°F (15-18°C) and maintain high humidity levels of 85-95%.

Mist the growing area regularly to maintain moisture and create favorable conditions for mushroom formation.

Harvesting and Maintenance

Lionsmane mushrooms will begin to form small, white "pom-pom" structures, which will grow larger over time.

Harvest the mushrooms when they reach the desired size and texture, typically around 4-6 inches in diameter.

Carefully cut or twist the mushrooms off the growing medium, ensuring not to damage surrounding mycelium.

After harvesting, remove any remaining mushroom debris and sanitize the growing area before starting a new cycle.

Record-Keeping and Evaluation

Maintain detailed records of the entire growing process, including dates, temperatures, humidity levels, and growth observations.

Evaluate the success and challenges faced during each cycle to identify areas for improvement.
