- Look for droppings, nests, or chew marks
- Check for holes or cracks where pests could enter
- Schedule pest control services if needed
- Inspect for loose carpets, uneven flooring, or clutter
- Ensure handrails are secure and in good condition
- Fix any hazards immediately to prevent accidents
