Pre-Work Inspection
- Look for cracks, bends, or other signs of damage on all components

- Test the locking pins by trying to remove them - they should be secure

- Inspect ladder connections to ensure they are secure
- Check that all access gates are locked and functioning properly
During Work Inspection
- Check the weight of materials and workers on the scaffolding
- Refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for maximum load capacity
- Check for hard hats, safety harnesses, and non-slip footwear
- Verify that all workers have safety goggles and gloves
- Remove any loose materials or objects that could cause a tripping hazard
- Inspect for any slippery substances that could lead to falls
- Ensure that tools are properly stored in tool belts or toolboxes
- Secure loose materials with straps or ties to prevent them from falling
- Check that all power cords are undamaged and properly plugged in
- Use a voltage tester to confirm that electrical equipment is properly grounded
Post-Work Inspection
- Check for cracks, dents, or bending in the components
- Look for rust or corrosion on metal parts
- Inspect wooden parts for splintering or rot
- Ensure no tools are left on platforms or ledges
- Check for any loose materials that may have been left behind
- Push on guardrails to ensure they are stable
- Check for any missing or damaged guardrails or toeboards
- Inspect each locking pin to ensure it is engaged
- Check for any loose or missing locking pins
- Take photos of any damage or wear on the scaffolding components
- Record any issues in a written report for future maintenance
