Preparation for Tire Change
Gather necessary tools and equipment (jack, lug wrench, spare tire)
Park in a safe location away from traffic
Engage parking brake
Place wheel chocks behind and in front of tires
Tire Change Process
Loosen lug nuts on flat tire
Jack up vehicle using proper lifting points
Locate the proper lifting points on the vehicle and place the jack underneath.
Carefully jack up the vehicle to create enough space to remove the flat tire.
Remove lug nuts and flat tire
Mount spare tire onto hub
Hand tighten lug nuts onto spare tire
Lower vehicle back to ground
Tighten lug nuts in a crisscross pattern
Lower jack completely and remove
Double check lug nuts for tightness
Remove wheel chocks
Check tire pressure on spare tire
Inspect spare tire for any damage or wear
Secure flat tire in vehicle or trunk
Dispose of flat tire properly
Test drive vehicle to ensure spare tire is functioning properly
Check lug nuts again after driving a short distance
Post Tire Change
Pack up tools and equipment
Store flat tire in trunk or designated area
Check spare tire pressure
