Closing Checklist

  • Use designated cleaning products to thoroughly clean the espresso machine and grinder
  • Sanitize all surfaces that come in contact with coffee or milk
  • Pour out any remaining coffee or milk in the sink
  • Rinse out containers or pitchers used for coffee or milk
  • Check inventory and restock cups, lids, sleeves, stirrers, and other supplies
  • Ensure there are enough coffee beans, milk, and syrups for the next shift
  • Count the cash in the register and complete the cash-out process
  • Record sales data including total sales, number of transactions, and any discrepancies
  • Use a disinfectant spray or wipes to clean and sanitize all surfaces
  • Pay special attention to areas that come in contact with food or drinks
  • Sweep the floors to remove any debris or spills
  • Mop the floors with a cleaning solution to ensure they are clean and dry
  • Remove trash bags from bins and tie them securely
  • Wipe down the inside and outside of trash bins with a disinfectant
  • Power off the espresso machine, grinder, blender, and any other equipment
  • Unplug appliances like the toaster, microwave, and refrigerator
  • Check that all doors and windows are locked
  • Set the alarm system if applicable
