Pre-Drive Inspection

  • Use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure of each tire
  • Refer to the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure levels
  • Adjust tire pressure as needed
  • Use a tread depth gauge to measure the depth of the tire treads
  • Ensure the tread depth meets the legal minimum requirement
  • Consider replacing tires if tread depth is low
  • Inspect tires for cuts, cracks, bulges, or other signs of damage
  • Replace tires if any damage is found
  • Ensure tires are inflated properly
  • Look for any signs of fluid leaks underneath the vehicle
  • Check for leaks in the engine, transmission, brakes, and coolant system
  • Address any leaks before driving
  • Locate and check the dipsticks or reservoirs for each fluid type
  • Top up fluids if levels are low
  • Use the correct type of fluid for each system
  • Check the condition of the wiper blades for wear or damage
  • Replace wiper blades if necessary
  • Ensure the windshield wiper fluid reservoir is filled
  • Turn on the headlights, brake lights, and turn signals
  • Check that all lights are working properly
  • Replace any bulbs that are burnt out
