Preoperative Checklist

Confirm patient's identity and medical record

Review patient's medical history and current condition

Anesthesia Checklist

Assess patient's overall health and suitability for anesthesia

Conduct a pre-anesthetic evaluation, including physical examination and blood work

Administer pre-anesthetic medications as prescribed

Prepare and setup anesthesia equipment

Monitor patient's vital signs throughout the procedure

Adjust anesthesia levels and medications as needed

Ensure patient's body temperature is maintained during surgery

Administer post-operative pain management as necessary

Surgical Checklist

Confirm the surgical procedure required (TPLO)

Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and ready

Prepare the surgical site by clipping and cleaning the area

Administer local anesthesia and/or nerve blocks as needed

Perform the TPLO procedure according to established surgical techniques

Monitor patient's vital signs and response to surgery

Control bleeding and suture or staple incisions as appropriate

Apply dressings or bandages as necessary

Administer post-operative antibiotics as prescribed

Monitor patient for any signs of infection or complications

Remove sutures or staples at the appropriate time

Re-examine the surgical area and record the healing process

Provide follow-up instructions and care to the owner

Postoperative Checklist

Assist patient in recovery from anesthesia

Monitor patient's vital signs, pain level, and overall condition

Provide post-operative pain management and comfort measures

Give clear post-operative care instructions to the pet owner

Schedule any necessary follow-up appointments

Document all procedures, medications, and observations in the patient's medical record
