Setting up a windows 11 laptop in autopilot

Preparing the Laptop

Ensure the laptop meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11.

Verify that the laptop is connected to a stable internet connection.

Make sure the laptop has been updated to the latest firmware version.

Backup any important data or files from the laptop.

Configuring Autopilot

Log in to the Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM) portal.

Navigate to the Autopilot deployment profile section.

Create a new Autopilot deployment profile or modify an existing one.

Configure the required settings such as user account type, privacy options, etc.

Save the Autopilot deployment profile.

Preparing the Autopilot Deployment

Acquire the hardware ID(s) of the laptop(s) that need to be set up.

Generate or obtain the Autopilot deployment file(s) (CSV format) containing the hardware ID(s).

Validate the Autopilot deployment file(s) for accuracy and completeness.

Enrolling the Laptop in Autopilot

Power on the laptop and connect it to the internet.

On the Windows 11 out-of-box experience (OOBE) screen, press Shift + F10 to open a command prompt.

Retrieve the hardware ID of the laptop by running the command "wmic csproduct get identifyingnumber".

Record the hardware ID and confirm it matches with the one in the Autopilot deployment file.

Close the command prompt and continue with the OOBE steps.

Post-Setup Tasks

Monitor the progress of the laptop's Autopilot deployment in the MEM portal.

Once the deployment is complete, verify that the laptop is enrolled and visible in the MEM portal.

Apply any necessary security policies, configurations, or software installations through MEM.

Test the laptop's functionality and ensure all required applications are installed and functioning properly.

Provide end-user training or documentation for using the Windows 11 laptop.
