Place the oil catch pan under the oil drain plug

Remove the oil drain plug using a wrench

Allow the old oil to fully drain into the pan

Replace the oil drain plug once the oil has drained

Locate the oil filter and use an oil filter wrench to remove it

Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter

Install the new oil filter according to the manufacturer’s instructions

Remove the oil filler cap on top of the engine

Use a funnel to pour new oil into the engine

Refer to the owner’s manual for the correct oil type and quantity

Replace the oil filler cap securely

Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes

Check for any leaks around the oil filter and drain plug

Turn off the engine and check the oil level using the dipstick

Dispose of the old oil and filter properly at a recycling center

Record the date and mileage of the oil change for future reference

Note the type and amount of oil used for your records
