Verify that public restrooms are clean, stocked with supplies, and in proper working order

Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues in public areas to the appropriate department

Security Checks

Verify that all exterior doors, including emergency exits, are locked and secure

Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems for any unusual activity or malfunctions

Inspect fire safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and smoke detectors, ensuring they are functional and up to date

Ensure emergency exit routes are clear, well-lit, and properly marked

Report any security concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities and management

Financial Reconciliation

Reconcile daily cash drawer, ensuring it balances with the PMS records

Review and verify all credit card transactions, ensuring they are properly processed and recorded

Balance any outstanding charges, adjustments, or refunds in guest accounts

Verify the accuracy of all revenue reports, including room revenue, food and beverage revenue, and other departments

Prepare a summary of financial activities for management review and reporting purposes

System and Backup Checks

Ensure the PMS and other related systems are functioning correctly and properly connected

Perform a backup of all important data and files, ensuring they are securely stored

Test the backup system to ensure data restoration is possible in case of emergencies

Verify the interfaces with other systems, such as the POS system or online booking platforms, are working smoothly

Report any system errors, malfunctions, or connectivity issues to the IT department

Communication and Handover

Document any important incidents, issues, or guest requests encountered during the night audit

Prepare a detailed handover report for the next shift or management team, highlighting any outstanding tasks or concerns

Communicate any guest requests or concerns to the appropriate departments for prompt resolution

Inform management of any significant findings, revenue discrepancies, or areas needing improvement

Maintain clear and concise communication with the incoming staff or management team, providing a comprehensive overview of the night audit activities
