Shipping

  • Use appropriate packaging materials to protect products during transit

  • Ensure all documents are accurate and up-to-date
  • Compare shipping address on package with address on the shipping label
  • Verify recipient's contact information for any potential delivery issues
  • Contact carrier to schedule pick-up date and time
  • Communicate any special handling requirements or delivery instructions to the carrier

Receiving

  • Inspect the exterior of the shipping container for any signs of damage
  • Check for any holes, dents, or tears in the packaging
  • Open the package and check that the items match the packing slip
  • Count the items and verify that all expected items are present
  • Document any missing or damaged items on the receiving report
  • Take photos of any damages for evidence
  • Contact the sender to report the issues
  • Move the shipment to a designated receiving area
  • Use appropriate equipment to safely unload heavy or bulky items
  • Ensure the items are stored in a secure location
  • Enter the received items into the inventory management system
  • Update the inventory levels to reflect the new stock
  • Notify relevant departments such as production or sales of the new inventory
