Post-Service Checklist

  • Open the hood of the vehicle
  • Locate the dipsticks for oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and coolant
  • Check each fluid level against the recommended levels indicated on the dipstick
  • Top up any fluids that are low
  • Start the engine
  • Drive the vehicle on a variety of roads at different speeds
  • Listen for any unusual noises
  • Pay attention to the handling and braking of the vehicle
  • Review the initial service request
  • Check each item off the list as it is verified
  • Ensure all parts have been installed correctly
  • Confirm that all tasks have been completed
  • Enter the details of the service into the system
  • Include the date, mileage, and work performed
  • Note any recommendations for future maintenance
  • Save and store the updated service records
  • Print out a detailed service report
  • Explain the work that was done and any recommendations
  • Answer any questions the customer may have
  • Thank the customer for their business
  • Inspect the vehicle for any signs of fluid leaks underneath
  • Listen for any unusual noises coming from the engine or undercarriage
  • Address any leaks or noises immediately
  • Use a tire pressure gauge to check the air pressure in each tire
  • Inspect the tread depth and look for any signs of uneven wear
  • Adjust tire pressure as needed
  • Recommend tire replacement if necessary
  • Turn on all lights including headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals
  • Check that all lights are functioning correctly
  • Replace any bulbs that are burnt out
  • Test the horn as well
  • Turn on the air conditioning and set it to the coldest setting
  • Check that cold air is coming out of the vents
  • Turn on the heater and set it to the warmest setting
  • Ensure hot air is coming out of the vents
  • Inspect the tires for signs of uneven wear which may indicate alignment issues
  • Test the suspension by bouncing each corner of the vehicle
  • Listen for any creaking or knocking sounds
  • Recommend alignment or suspension repairs if needed
