Pre-Operation Inspection

  • Ensure oil level is between the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick
  • Check hydraulic fluid level in reservoir
  • Inspect coolant level in radiator
  • Check for any cuts, punctures, or uneven wear on tires
  • Inspect tire pressure and adjust if necessary
  • Inspect under the forklift for any signs of leaks
  • Check for leaks in hydraulic lines, hoses, or fittings
  • Test horn to ensure it is loud and working properly
  • Check headlights, taillights, and turn signals for proper function
  • Test brakes for responsiveness and effectiveness
  • Check brake pads for wear
  • Inspect battery terminals for corrosion
  • Check battery fluid level if applicable
  • Turn steering wheel to check for smooth operation
  • Check for any unusual noises when turning
  • Engage emergency brake on a flat surface to test effectiveness
  • Ensure emergency brake holds the forklift in place
  • Inspect seat belt for fraying or damage
  • Test seat belt to ensure it latches securely
  • Check for cracks, bends, or other signs of damage on forks
  • Inspect fork tips for wear and deformation
