GENERATOR INSPECTION CHECKLIST

Generator Inspection Checklist

  • Inspect for visible damage or corrosion on the generator exterior
  • Check the exhaust system for leaks or damage
  • Ensure fuel tank is securely attached and leak-free
  • Verify all access panels are properly secured
  • Inspect all sides of the generator for dents, scratches, or rust
  • Look for any signs of corrosion on the metal surfaces
  • Check for any loose or missing parts
  • Visually inspect the exhaust pipes for holes or rust spots
  • Check for any black sooty residue around the exhaust system
  • Make sure the exhaust system is securely attached to the generator
  • Check the fuel tank for any signs of leaks or drips
  • Inspect the fuel tank mounting brackets for secure attachment
  • Look for any corrosion or rust on the fuel tank
  • Check that all access panels are tightly closed and latched
  • Inspect the hinges and latches for any signs of wear or damage
  • Make sure all panels are flush with the generator body

General Operation Inspection

  • Turn the generator on using the designated controls
  • Stand a safe distance away from the generator
  • Listen for any abnormal or unusual noises coming from the generator
  • Check the engine temperature gauge periodically
  • Check the oil pressure gauge periodically
  • Ensure both gauges are within the recommended operating range
  • Activate the automatic shutdown system manually
  • Observe if the generator shuts down as expected
  • Reset the system after testing
  • Use a power meter to measure the output power of the generator
  • Compare the measured power with the rated power of the generator
  • Ensure the output power is within an acceptable range
