Exterior Inspection

Check for any dents, scratches, or rust on the body of the car

Ensure all lights (headlights, taillights, turn signals) are working properly

Check windshield and windows for cracks or chips

Inspect the tires for tread wear and proper inflation

Check the condition of the windshield wipers and blades

Look for any signs of leaks or damage underneath the car

Check the condition of the paint and look for any signs of fading or peeling

Interior Inspection

Test all interior lights, including dome lights and dashboard lights

Check all seatbelts for proper function

Test the air conditioning and heating systems

Inspect the condition of the seats, dashboard, and interior trim

Under the Hood Inspection

Check the engine oil level and condition

Locate the engine oil dipstick
Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean
Reinsert the dipstick fully and then pull it out again
Check the oil level on the dipstick
Inspect the oil color and consistency

Check all fluid levels (coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid)

Locate the respective fluid reservoirs under the hood
Check the fluid levels against the markings on the reservoirs
Top up any fluids that are below the recommended levels
Inspect for any leaks or unusual discoloration in the fluids

Road Test

Test the brakes for proper function and responsiveness

Check the steering for alignment and smooth operation

Test the acceleration and transmission shifting

Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations while driving
