General Inspection

System Performance

  • Use a calibrated thermometer.
  • Position the thermometer at the air intake and outlet of each indoor unit.
  • Record the temperatures accurately.
  • Compare readings to expected values for efficiency.
  • Connect pressure gauges to the service ports.
  • Ensure system is operating in normal mode.
  • Record both high and low side pressures.
  • Compare recorded pressures to the manufacturer's specified ranges.
  • Listen for any hissing, banging, or grinding sounds.
  • Identify the source of any unusual noises.
  • Check for loose components or debris.
  • Document any irregularities for further investigation.
  • Use an anemometer to measure airflow at the supply vents.
  • Compare airflow readings to design specifications.
  • Inspect filters and ductwork for obstructions.
  • Ensure all dampers are functioning properly.
