Preparation Materials
Gather raw materials (cotton, linen, or recycled paper)
Collect tools (blender, vat, mould, deckle, and drying surface)
Prepare workspace (clean and organize area)
Preparing the Pulp
Tear raw materials into small pieces
Soak materials in water for several hours
Blend soaked materials until a smooth pulp is formed
Setting Up the Mould and Deckle
Fill the vat with water
Pour the pulp into the vat
Use the mould to scoop up pulp evenly
Place the deckle on top of the mould
Forming the Paper Sheet
Shake the mould gently to distribute pulp
Lift the mould and deckle out of the vat
Allow excess water to drain off
Pressing and Drying
Press the mould to remove more water (using a sponge or press)
Carefully remove the deckle
Transfer the wet sheet to a drying surface (felt or cloth)
Repeat the process for additional sheets
Finishing Touches
Allow sheets to dry completely
If desired, press the dried sheets for smoothness
Trim edges if necessary
Store finished paper flat or in a protective folder
