Preparation

Install New Drain Assembly

Apply plumber's tape to the threads of the new drain assembly.

Insert the new drain into the sink opening and secure it by tightening the locknut from underneath the sink.

Reattach the drain trap by connecting the pipes and tightening the slip nuts.

Test for Leaks

Turn on the water supply valves under the sink.

Run water through the sink and check for any leaks around the new drain assembly and connections.

Tighten any loose fittings if necessary.

Clean Up

Dispose of the old drain assembly and any debris.

Wipe down the area under the sink to ensure it is clean and dry.

Store tools and leftover materials in their designated places.
