Pre-Flight Preparation
Ensure the aircraft is on a level surface.
Verify that the ignition switch is in the "OFF" position.
Inspect the ignition system for any visible damage or wear.
Confirm that the battery is fully charged and in good condition.
Ignition System Inspection
Check the spark plugs for condition and proper gap.
Inspect ignition leads for any signs of wear or damage.
Ensure the ignition coils are securely mounted and connected.
Verify that the grounding connections are clean and tight.
Magneto Testing
Switch the ignition to “BOTH” and check for engine start.
If the engine does not start, switch to "LEFT" magneto and repeat.

Listen for any irregularities in engine sound while testing each magneto.
Spark Plug Testing
Remove spark plugs and visually inspect for fouling or wear.

Reinstall spark plugs and torque to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Final Checks
Ensure all ignition components are securely fastened.
Replace any damaged or worn components as necessary.
Conduct a final visual inspection of the entire ignition system.
