Turn Off Lights Checklist
- Walk into each room systematically.
- Look up at ceiling fixtures and down at lamps.
- Ensure no lights are left on in closets or bathrooms.
- Note any lights that are still illuminated.
- Locate the switch for each ceiling light.
- If applicable, use a step stool for high fixtures.
- Flip the switch to the off position.
- Double-check that the light has turned off.
- Identify all lamps in each room.
- Locate the switch or pull chain on each lamp.
- Turn off each lamp by using the switch or chain.
- Confirm that the lamps are no longer lit.
- Inspect the front and back yards for outdoor lights.
- Check for lights on porches or pathways.
- Use the appropriate switch or timer to turn off outdoor lights.
- Ensure all outdoor lights are turned off before leaving.
