Pre-Checklist Considerations

Performing the vMotion Process

Log into the vSphere Client.

Right-click the VM to be migrated and select "Migrate."

Choose the type of migration (Change compute resource only, Change storage only, or Change both).

Select the destination cluster and appropriate host.

Review the settings and click "Finish" to initiate the migration.

Post-Migration Verification

Confirm that the VM is running on the destination cluster.

Verify network connectivity and functionality of the VM.

Monitor performance metrics in the vSphere Client to ensure stability.

Remove any snapshots taken prior to migration if no longer needed.

Documentation and Finalization

Update documentation to reflect the changes made during the vMotion.

Notify relevant stakeholders of the successful migration.

Conduct a post-migration review to identify any issues and lessons learned.
